Tera

Tera is a great MMO game that is full of exciting battles, wonderful scenes, never-ending adventures and great community to play with. It all starts from the land of Aborea, where everybody lives in peace and harmony. The evil was buried underground and has remained there ever since. However, the evil has found a place in a new island which rose above the water. Now players from all around the world gather to go to the island and join their forces in this epic battle. The game involves violence and sexual costuming and that is why it is not suitable for children.

There are many options for zones, and the world seems almost endless with their large areas. There are evergreen forests, snowy mountains, deep canyons and pretty much any kind of other terrain type you can just imagine. Much effort has been put to the zones and the graphics. It is nice to notice how each zone is really unique and big. Tera has more than 80 zones although some can be considered more as a sub-zones for the bigger territories which are connected together.

There are tons of tasks to complete, so the players will definitely keep themselves busy jumping from one zone to another. As any known MMORPG, Tera also knows that the story and the structure are the main points of the game. Tera has made the story connect beautifully between the different zones.

The good thing about Tera gameplay is that you can develop and move on quite fast. You can decide to spend more time and collect experience points with small tasks. Actually, it is a bit of a shame that you can pass many zones and places to move faster, but in that case you miss some beautiful scenes and hidden secrets of the game.

We have discovered that some of the best ways to experience the game in full is to find as many random enemies and hidden places as possible. They might at times feel boring, but it will get better as the story goes on. Your ultimate leveling experience is Kumas Royale and each team has a Boss Kumas who is the fastest player. While your enemies are fighting the Boss Kumas, the other players have to make as much damage to them as possible.

Kumas Royale, when succeeded, will give the player an enormous amount of experience. Most likely, you will get a full level up and new high-quality gear. However, do not think that it would be easy because it definitely is not. You will need practice and you need to work on your strategy. Especially with Boss Kumas you must be very careful. It comes with many cool features and it is great to use them. Just that when you use too much of them then you are vulnerable to the damage and you will die before the enemy.

QUALITY

Not everybody has been excited about this game though. It seems to have lots of faults that especially those veteran MMO players find very frustrating. Some complaints come from the slowness of the game and the little options it has to offer at some stages. For example, a good MMORPG has always something for you to do when you log in. Tera does not offer the same kind of possibilities as other games do.

Moreover, even the veterans give credit to Tera’s amazing combat system. As it is full of action! It is full of different kinds of combos and more of a freeform way of targeting the enemy. Player gets new abilities as the game goes on and it gets more interesting. Especially the different combos are very nice and bring a nice kick to the battles. You are able to follow the abilities and which combo is next available for you while in battle. The indicator is placed right next to your character so it is relatively easy to follow them. The more you get into the game, you will learn to carefully move in a way that you will not break the combo.

The different roles of the characters also work well in Tera. Somehow it is a very well balanced system that works in a perfect harmony with the game. It does not offer as much variety as some other MMOs but it still has some great characters to choose from. You will be spending a moment or two to gear up before heading to the zones. But for those who like this part of the game, Tera does not really offer such huge selection and possibilities to work on your character.

Somehow the interesting parts come a bit later in the game and actually when you reach level 20+ it all of a sudden gets far more exciting. Everything makes more sense then, the combats, the team play and you really have to focus on the game.

It is actually quite funny how you seem to be going from the cute zones towards the monstrous ones. Everything becomes weirder and creepier the more you play. It feels like why all this was kept hidden for so long in the game, but you will realize that you had to build your characters abilities first to reach that point. At some point the meaning of the group fades away a bit though and it becomes more of a solo game where you have to find your own missions.

To complete the game and finalize all the zones you will have to reach level 65, which is the level cap. By that time you have had to hunt around 30 enemies. The time you will be spending on the game will entirely depend on the amount of time and interest you spend exploring the different zones. If you push it ahead and your goal is to get there fast, you might be able to do it in less than 40 hours. To move on is quite easy, hunting the enemies is not that hard too and you level up quite fast. The tricky parts are the dungeons that might give you a bit more work and practice to do before you will be able to pass them.

REQUIREMENTS AND COST

Game quality has been compromised especially with different consoles. The game, in any platform, also still has some bugs that disturb your game from time to time. The gameplay could be better, but we have seen worse too. It gets a bit boring mainly because of the repetitiveness of the game.

The game is available on various platforms including PC and consoles. The game is free for everyone to join but there are different expansion packs that you can buy. The prices range from $8 to $45. The prices are very reasonable when we consider what the packs include. The popularity of the game has to be mentioned because it has been played since 2012 and how almost 10 years later we still talk about it. That tells you that it is not a useless game at all and it has kept players around the world interested in it all these years. We do not want to go too much into comparing Tera to other MMORPG games, since they all have their pros and cons, but still being available and played after all these years ranks it amongst one the best games.

It has great features and an active community, so you will definitely find other players to join the adventure. There are several different things to do, and you can choose how much you want to explore.
